In Memory

Annette Langmo

This was in the Spencer Daily Reporter in 1971.

A double funeral service was conducted Tuesday at Colorado Springs, Colo., for two sisters, Jayne Langmo of Spencer, and Mrs. Gary (Annette) Bennit of Manitou Springs, Colo.  The sisters died a day apart.

Mrs. Bennit, the former Annette Langmo, was struck by a car in Manitou Springs Oct. 28 in which she suffered severe brain damage.  She was unconscious until her death Saturday, Nov. 13.

Her sister Jayne, an employee of Spencer Municipal Hospital, had gone to Colorado to be near her but died the previous day, Friday, Nov. 12, of a blood clot.

Survivors include her parents Robert Langmo of Spencer, and Mrs. Robert Lnagmo of Manitou Springs Colo., and six brothers and sisters, Mrs. William (Roberta) Dahlke of St Paul, Minn.;  Robert, jr., with the Army in Germany; John of Spencer and Becky, Tim and Brad at home in Manitou Springs.

Annette was a good friend of mine during high school and beyond.  She was a free spirit with an artistic nature and a gentle soul who deserved many more years here on earth than she got.  I still miss her and all the fun times we shared together.

Thanks to Leslie for this information

Never knew this.  Very sad; two lives too short.

Annette was a one of kind girl. EXtremely witty and animated, I'd say.

I knew about her death due to a tragic accident, but don't recall knowing about the sister. Now, that is an awful, awful coincidence for that family.

Thanks, Leslie, however, for this reminder of our special friend.

I join the other classmates

in expressing my sadness at the passing of Annette and her sister.
