Penny passed away on March 29th, 2014 in Denver CO of liver cancer. She had been staying with a niece because of her illness.  A graduate of the University of Iowa with a BS in physics, Penny went on to get her Masters from Georgetown University. She lived in Chicago for many years where she taught physics and wrote. She is survived by her siblings Barb, Ivan, and Janis
